There are 27 kinds of creatures in Dungeon Master, and many creature generators triggered by walking in the dungeon.
The Dungeon Master Creatures names on this site are those found on page 12 of the Hint Book - Dungeon Master Adventurer's Handbook, which is the official Dungeon Master hint book. The internal names are also the same and can be found inside the graphics.dat file of both Dungeon Master for PC version 3.4 Multilingual and Dungeon Master for Amiga version 3.6. Note that in these two versions the French and German creature names contain the Chaos Strikes Back creature names instead. This does not cause any real issue anyway as these internal names are intended for the "No creature" scroll that is only found in Chaos Strikes Back and not in the Dungeon Master dungeon.
Open a door, wait for a creature to stand in it, then close it. Most creatures will take damage.
Close a pit, wait for a creature to stand on it, then open it. Most creatures will die by falling.
If the party enters a square containing a creature by falling in a pit of through a teleporter (a 'telefrag') then the creature is instantly killed. For example, with some luck you may avoid fighting the dragon on the last level of the Dungeon Master dungeon by falling from a pit on the level above. Also, if a creature gets teleported to a map where that creature type is not allowed, the creature is killed instantly.
